1. Tell us about your wedding! When it was, where it was at, and who helped put it together:

The wedding ceremony & reception was at Owen Farm in Chapmansboro, TN, which is a short drive north of Nashville. It was held on October 8th, 2016 at 4:30pm. Overall, Jason (my now husband) and I put it together just the two of us! We have a bit of a nontraditional family, set-up, so the planning and funding of the wedding was left to us. Sometimes that added some stress, but overall it was a great lesson in team work, financial planning & we got to do exactly what we wanted! We did have some great vendors to help along the way, and the weekend of our friends & family lent a helping hand.

2. How did you pick your wedding dress?
Honestly, I thought I’d be so much more undecided than I was. I always new a mermaid style dress looked best on my figure, but I envisioned something more bohemian and thought I might end up with a Haley Paige gown or something along those lines. I did see my dress online, and a friend and I exchanged the picture of it with hearts because it was so gorgeous! When I arrived for my appointment, I tried on a number of A-line gowns, one even lavender colored, but when I put on my dress I knew immediately. It just fit so well, it felt like it belonged on me! I loved the tulle bottom and I knew I could glam it up a little with a nice sash, jewelry & veil.

3. Any advice for future brides?
Hmmm I think I focused SO much on table settings, decor, flowers, etc (which is all fun & a big part of the day) but in the end what made the day so great was the fun we had! Make sure to have good music (DJ or band – we had a DJ), an awesome dance floor, and everyone will have a blast! I’d also say don’t skimp on photos or video – those help your memories last a lifetime, because the day is such a blur! When the day arrives, set everything else aside & really focus on the day – the people you speak with, the time with you bridesmaids, the sun on your face, the look on his! It’s the best part!
